Hey there! I’m Jessica, but everyone calls me Jessy. I’m a 34-year-old self-taught chef living in the sunny heart of Austin, Texas.
If you’re the kind of person who loves the idea of cooking but feels a little lost in the kitchen, maybe overwhelmed by all the fancy terms or just not sure where to start, then you’re exactly who I had in mind when I started sharing my food journey.
I wasn’t born into a family of chefs or raised on heirloom recipes. Nope, I grew up on frozen pizzas and drive-thru dinners. But somewhere between late-night food videos and trying to impress my college roommates with microwave experiments, I fell head over heels for cooking.
It started simple: scrambled eggs that didn’t come out like rubber, pancakes without burning the house down, and eventually, pasta sauces that made my friends ask for seconds.

One thing that always stood out to me growing up was my mom’s cooking. Her recipes felt like magic, so rich with flavor and always made with love. Back then, they seemed impossible for me to recreate.
I remember thinking, « How does she even do this? » But over time, as I gained confidence in the kitchen, I started trying to replicate her dishes.
And now? I think I’ve finally nailed a few of them. It feels like the ultimate win to cook something that tastes like home.
After a few years in a marketing job that paid the bills but left my soul hungry (pun intended), I realized my happiest moments were the ones spent at the stove, music playing, apron dusted in flour. So, I made a big switch. I left the cubicle, took a leap of faith, and started creating recipes and videos for people like me, the ones who want good food without all the fuss.

My cooking style? Easy, flavorful, and trendy. I love putting my own spin on classics and jumping on food trends that are actually doable for the average kitchen.
Whether it’s viral TikTok pasta, sheet pan dinners, or air fryer everything, I test it all and keep what works. And when it doesn’t?
Well, at least we got a good laugh and learned something new.
Cooking should be fun, not frustrating.
I believe that anyone can cook, yes, even you. All you need is a little confidence, some helpful tips, and a recipe that doesn’t require a culinary degree to understand. I share everything I make, from quick weekday meals to brunch experiments gone surprisingly right. If I can do it, so can you.
So come hang out, try a recipe or two, and don’t worry if it’s not perfect. We’re all learning together, one delicious bite at a time.
